German Shepherds are extremely intelligent, loyal, and high-energy dogs that require daily exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent, positive training. Training will be a lifelong commitment with these amazing dogs. They thrive in homes where they are treated as full members of the family—not left outside or alone for long periods. Please expect and be prepared for a 10–14 year commitment.

How Adoption Works
Before submitting an application, please carefully review our adoption process and policies. Once your application is submitted, we will review your information, contact references, and, if your application meets our initial criteria, schedule a home visit. Because NOGSR is 100% volunteer-run, processing times may vary, but most applicants are approved or declined within 5–14 days.
